gerard has been teaching in our linux room and reports a v11 feature. the grab_build command has been overhauled to make the object generation less confusing (the sudden appearance of a BIT object, other mol objects that are not updated etc). my mods cause some confusion when grab_build is used in conjunction with centre_build. in this case, the BIT object's visibility is turned off so the poor student couldn't see the residue. to be fixed in 11.0.1 gerard also reports that flip-peptide does not work from grab_build. this is not true but since it might confuse other users, i'll mention what's going on. in grab_build the flip occurs between the current residue and the last one built. since gerard was using cen_build to move around, he never got a last built residue so nothing was flipped. since i am polluting the internet, i should mention that the new fragment option in grab_build is how i've been flipping peptides in the last few structures. being able to access the fm_rsr_zone from grab_build has also been useful, provided there's nice density. the space navigator is described on http://www.extremetech.com/ article2/0,1697,2072366,00.asp today, if you are interested. this is XP only at the moment.
