We have crystallized a number of proteins involved in Gram positive pathogenesis. We are looking for a bright, hard-working individual who has experience in macromolecular crystallography and would like to be part of solving these new structures. Experience in protein chemistry is also a plus. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology or a closely related field. The laboratory is located in on the banks of the Mississippi River in the Minneapolis campus (http://www.onestop.umn.edu/Access/QTVRmovies/index.html) of the University of Minnesota. For the past 3 years the University of Minnesota has been rated as one of the top 3 public research university in the U.S. (http://thecenter.ufl.edu/). The laboratory is part of Kahlert Structural Biology Laboratory and has state-of-the-art crystallographic facilities which are shared with Dr. Len Banaszak and Dr. Carrie Wilmot. We frequently collect synchrotron data through the SBC at APS and at the NSLS. Minnesota is also a member in the Molecular Biology Consortium (http://www.mbc-als.org/) whose beamline at ALS is coming online this summer. Outstanding computational resources are available through the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute (http://www.msi.umn.edu/) which maintains the Basic Sciences Computing Laboratory (http://www.msi.umn.edu/bscl/hardware/) adjacent to the Kahlert Structural Biology Laboratory. Salary is highly competitive and is commensurate with experience. The University of Minnesota is an Equal Opportunity Employer. For additional information or to make application contact: Douglas H.
