[o-info] SGI Dials and GLUT on the XP1000

  Hello all,

We have installed an 8-knob SGI dial box on a Compaq XP1000
workstation running Tru64 Unix v5.1. The X-server has been configured
to include the X input extension as described in the o-info link
  http://csa.compaq.com/SGISUN_DialButtonbox.html.
The dials are recognized and work fine in O v7.0.

For other applications, we have installed OpenGL Utilities
Glut v3.7.1. One of the test programs in the Glut distribution
(test11) simply checks for the existence of various input devices
(SPACEBALL, DIALS, TABLET). This test finds dials when run on our
SGI, or when run as an XP1000 client application on an SGI X-server,
but fails to find dials on the XP1000 X-server. Are there another
Glut-related X-configuration steps we are neglecting? Can any Glut
users claim success with dials on an XP1000? How are the dials
accessed in O under Tru64 Unix?

  Thanks for any help.
