POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
In Macromolecular X-ray Crystallography
Lilly Research Laboratories, Eli Lilly and Company has a position available
for a
Postdoctoral Fellow in macromolecular x-ray crystallography to investigate
proteins involved in a variety of signal transduction pathways. The
appointment
will be for a period of one to three years. Candidates for this position
should
have a Ph.D. with a strong research background in biochemistry and experience
in macromolecular crystallography. Experience in protein cloning and
purification will be an advantage.
The macromolecular X-ray crystallography laboratory is well equipped for
structural studies and includes an R-Axis automated image plate detector
with mirrors on a RU300 generator, a Xentronics area detector on an RU200,
and high-performance computing and molecular graphics facilities. Lilly is
also a member of the Industrial Macromolecular Crystallography Association
(IMCA)
which provides regular access to the synchrotron beam at Argonne National
Laboratory. Our laboratory is part of an integrated structural-based drug
discovery group which includes molecular biologists, biochemists, and
computational chemists. The successful candidate will collaborate with a
multidisciplinary team of scientists involved in the cell biology,
biochemistry, and
structure-based drug design.
