Dear Anri,

     Sorry this message refers to a mail a couple of days ago I think. But
like CD o-info was bouncing my messages.

     It is on our list of things to do to make CCP4 compatible with f90.
FORTRAN 77 is supposed to be a subset of FORTRAN 90 so in theory the progs.
should compile as they are. As you have found and so have I this is not the
case. I would suggest to anyone with SGs to compile the programs with f77.

     With an R10000 there is a choise with f77 to compile 32-bit code or
64-bit code and a mixture of the two (-n32). The Suite compiles fine with
f77 -32 option, however the first compiler we obtained was duff. With our
working compiler I am compiling the Suite with f77 -64 option. So far I have
had only niggley warnings which should not concern end users unless the
programs do not work at all.

     Unfortunately, the configure file for 3.2 has not been setup very well
for IRIX6.* (see www problems page). Notice that the options change in format
from f77 -32 to f77 -64 e.g. -32 -trapuv --> -64 -TENV:trapuv=ON,
-32 -Olimit --> -64 -OPT:Olimit= . Other things to try, to optimise the code
for one machine type, are -r10000 and -Ofast=ipxx. However, if you have
mixed platforms like us this may not be useful.
